To assess your needs we ask you to complete our referral form and provide us with as much detail as you are able to. We need this information to see whether your case is suitable for our service or whether there might be a different option for you.

Your personal information can be shared with any of the Kids in Need of Defense UK hubs and with our pro bono partners. You must read through our privacy policy to make sure you understand how your information will be used.

What happens after I have made a referral?

The information you provide will be sent to Central England Law Centre. We will then check which of our hubs should consider your case. Any information you have given us will then be sent to the supervising lawyer at one of our hubs. They will contact you to confirm whether or not Kids in Need of Defense UK can help you.

How long will I have to wait before my case is allocated to a pro bono lawyer?

We currently have long waiting lists which means it's difficult to say how long it will take for your case to be allocated although it may take more than three months. If you are thinking about instructing a private lawyer because you cannot wait that long we suggest you watch this first.
